Papers + YOU WRITE FIRST!!

Oh dears, those videos have exhausted my patience 8I grrrrrrrrrr!! I think I will make a post to reply to the questions you made X( asdfdsfasdfsdf!! Oke! I will think about it >~< meanwhile I show you the papers I got to my envelopes *-* My friend told me to make envelopes and sell them... hmmmmmmm... maybe I will cosider her idea to make it a fact *-* Oh, btw I always go to read your posts, but sometimes I don't have something to comment :P sorry for that ;v;

Well, I had a weird situation with a new penpal AGAIN! One girl from Canada ask me to exchange letters, blah blah, you know. I said yes and I gave her my address and she said ok, BUT two days later she send me this mesagge: "Sorry to bother but, would it be ok if you send the letter first? I've always written letters first but never heard from the person again, and since I don't have a whole lot of money to keep doing that, it would be better if I could reply".
GOSH! that people pisses me a lot!! Why you ask a new penpal if 1) you don't trust that  they will reply, and 2) you don't have enough money to keep that friendship?! - I tried to be nice and then I told her: Sorry I can't, I'm working in many letters by now. We started to talk about penpals, money, economy, etc. At the end I told her: Ok, what you gonna do? send the letter or not? because I consider that the people who ask a new friendship is who write first. And she said: Hmmm probably not, because I need the money to buy christmas gifts to my friends. And I was like: ?______? Christmas in July! okeeeeeeeeeeeeeey? is the ridiculous thing I've heard/read! - I told her that it was ok, I "understand" (obviously not!) but bleh~ She said: Sorry! but you have many penpals so don't spend your money in stamps for me ;v;
And I was like:- ¬_¬ what? I wouldn't do it anyway!!

  1. Oh wow! ... I hope you could understand everything OK. lol....

  2. Yeeeeeah :/ well, I understand your points of you, but actually I do have some rules too :P I ask decorated letters because I don't like to receive white envelopes when I sent decorated ones, I think isn't fair. I consider a letter as a gift, and people decorate gifts, right? XD that's why I ask some effort in envelopes too.
    I had a similar situation about the person who rejected your letter. She said my letter was short, but actually I don't write long letters, I can only write long ones when I write in spanish (obviously). But I can't write long letters in English :P
    Another of my rules is that my penpals send me some items from their countries, a postcard at least, something! Well, I know is important to read all the news that my penpals could have, but if they only will send me sheets, then send me an e-mail and don't spend money 3_3 I consider that letters are not only to exchange news about our lives but also little gifts to show them more about our culture and countries, or real gifts too because if you're my friend I will want to send you something special just because you're my friend.
    Lately I have decided to send the same as I receive. If I receive a white envelope, I will send the same. If they send me only sheets, me too, with no items or gifts (I ALWAYS send something extra than the written sheets) That's my logic =P

    1. Hm you shouldn't expect too much ^-^ Every person has her own "rules" and not everyone has the money to always send little extras. (Postage is so damn damn damn expensive!! Is it the same with you? I'm always angry because I think I could send more awesome things, if it weren't so expensive to really send them <.<) And if a pen pal friendship is NOT about what you write, then why write at all? If you just want to exchange gifts there's a nice page called Swapbot :) Try it out ^^ I'm member there too, for I use to send my pen pals always little gifts but don't always get one back, so I decided to join Swapbot, where I get back something similar to what I send :) If you join there, then tell me and we could do a swap ^-^
      Have an awesome day :)
      Greetings,

    2. Oh, I know that everyone has their own style and their own posibilities to keep their penpalling. I don't ask the most wonderful Mail Art on Earth for the envelopes, but hey, just paste some stickers and I will be happy XD it's just I consider white envelopes like sad envelopes hahaha!

      Yeah, postage is so damn expensive for me too and I don't have many money, but when I said that I always send extra items I'm talking about things like teabags, brochures, a couple of photos, some stationery sheets, a simple postcard at least, those things don't make my letters more heavy/expensive and I can send pieces of my country inside them together my written sheets, that's my point ^^ And only in very special ocassions, like my penpal's birthdays I send big gifts °x° candies, magazines and so on, and only when I have the enough money to do it, °x° not always. I hope you can understand my point XD
      Some of my penpals send me loooong letters, and I enjoy them a lot and I try to reply as long as I can (but I fail most of the times T¬T) but the important thing here is that they know that, and they respect my style and I respect theirs, but hey, they send me little items too OR decorate their letters too, I mean, at the end I think that each of us can find the perfect penpals, at the moment I have found many, and I'm fine for them too (and I hope to continue find more cool penpals). But people like this girl and others that don't put much effort (from my point of view) I consider that I'm not perfect for them and they aren't perfect for me... I mean, I don't consider that expect a simple postcard is to expect too much, right? hmmmmmm I hope not to confuse people with my explanations hahahaha.

    3. Ah now I get you ^^ Well I'm totally bad at decorating my envelopes, so I use to put the letter in a colorful envelope, then put the envelope in a bigger white envelope so that I can put some little gifts inside too and then decorate the white envelope with deco tape ^^ That's my style of writing letter :D haha ^^

.. So if someone sends you a letter and nothing else, you would rather they send you an email instead of that? don't spend money on a letter? but spend money on a letter plus a small gift? I love a good letter, but I always leave it up to them if they'd like to send me something. Its not a rule. :)

  5. OOhhh and forgot to add, I don't expect them to send me anything either. Only if they feel like it. You know , sometimes people will feel like sending something , and thats fine :) I'm not demanding they send something with their letters either. LOL just a letter:) Maybe I'm too boring. HA HA. Just love the old fashioned sense of the written letter:)

  6. Hello:

    This post and the comments were really interesting for me. I can't believe a person pretending to find some penpals acts so rude... I read in other blog that in Interpals some people is very rude and certainly they don't understand what penpalling is.

    In one of the very first postcards my Iranian friend sent to me, he included a great advice all of us should listen to: "Blessed is he who expects no gratitude, for he shall not be disappointed" - W. C. Bennett.

    My envelopes are always white and simple, because I'm a boy, but I always try to include somethimg related to what I wrote in the letter: a postcard, a map, a photocopy of an interesting article I just read, a picture, etc. The only thing I hope from my penpals is a letter and their friendship, anything else I consider it as a gift.
